Position Description
The Heavy Equipment operator will operate various pieces of equipment on a mine site that includes but not limited to; forklifts, dozers, excavators, haul trucks, and water trucks. The transportation of bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas. Feeding conveyors, hoppers, loading trucks and stacking materials into stockpiles.
Essential Job Functions
may include the following or other duties as assigned:
Using excavator to dig and produce material, load material into trucks & clean ponds.
Prepares truck for operation by inspecting general condition; checking fluid levels and tire pressure; obtaining or scheduling required repairs; validating adherence to road-ability standards in accordance with DOT regulations and company standards. Ability to perform routine operator maintenance.
Must be capable of using three points of contact when climbing up and down ladder to enter and exit cab frequently
Be able to demonstrate basic controls and safe operation of equipment.
Perform worksite inspections prior to and after work is completed
Able to operate equipment in winter weather conditions
Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Familiarity with following ALL Federal MSHA regulations while on the mine site.
The individual is required to have MSHA.
Minimum of one-year related experience required.
Must be able to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Must be able to follow directions completely, accurately, and consistently.
Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle report.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, frequently climb.
Will be working outdoors year-round. Must be able to work in ALL weather conditions.
Schedule will be 10-12 hour shifts days/nights depending on need.
The position will last approximately 2 months.
Some weekends and holidays required.
