Job Information

  • Location: Goose Creek, SC

  • Travel: 10–25%

  • Clearance Required: No

  • Relocation Assistance: Available

  • Train-the-Trainer Location: Newport News, VA (2–3 months)


What You Need

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of additional education and/or related machining experience
    OR

  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship or Associate’s Degree in a related discipline with 3+ years of machining experience

  • Experience in mid- to large-scale industrial machining environments (heavy manufacturing, shipbuilding, power generation, aerospace, or similar)

  • Strong CNC machining experience

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications

  • Experience holding tight tolerances on precision components


What You Will Do

  • Set up and operate a variety of machine tools including CNC and manual lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders

  • Machine metal parts, tools, mechanisms, and assemblies to exacting tolerances and specifications

  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings to determine machining sequence and setup

  • Determine number of cuts required, tooling selection, feeds, and speeds

  • Perform shop math and layout work including measuring, marking, and scribing

  • Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, indicators)

  • Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment

  • Modify numerically controlled (NC) programs as needed

  • Monitor and verify quality using statistical process control and other quality procedures

  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and manufacturing standards
