Commissioning Technician – Industrial / Process Equipment

Job Summary:
Experienced commissioning technician capable of performing start-up, testing, troubleshooting, and functional verification of industrial process equipment including chillers, Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs), refinery systems, and offloading/truck loading bays. Ensures all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commission and start up industrial process equipment including:

  • Chillers (air-cooled and water-cooled systems)

  • Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs)

  • Basic refinery process systems

  • Offloading and truck loading bay systems

  • Pumps, heat exchangers, compressors, and associated mechanical equipment

• Perform pre-startup inspections and mechanical completion verification

• Conduct functional performance testing and system validation

• Verify piping systems, valves, instrumentation, and control loops

• Assist with loop checks, I/O verification, and control system integration

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation issues

• Monitor temperature, pressure, flow, and emissions performance

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations

• Work closely with engineers, operations personnel, and contractors during commissioning phase

• Develop and complete commissioning reports, punch lists, and turnover documentation

• Support plant startup, optimization, and performance testing
