Location: Fountain Inn, SC
Schedule: 8 hour shifts, 7 days/week
Employment Type: Contract, Full-Time, Temporary

Pay Starting at $40/hr + $45 a day per diem |Travel reimbursement | Hotel accommodations paid for | Overtime 1.5 | Weekly Pay

 

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mold Set-Up Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up, aligning, and securing molds in injection molding machines, ensuring all utilities are correctly connected and safety protocols are followed. The technician will be expected to operate mold-handling equipment, use precision tools such as torque wrenches, and ensure compliance with setup standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate mold-handling equipment, including canes (on-site certification provided).
  • Set and clamp molds using bolts, toe clamps, and other securing devices.
  • Use a torque wrench to properly tighten all fasteners to manufacturer specifications.
  • Strict adherence to torque wrench use is required due to a recent injury incident.
  • Swing and position steel molds safely and accurately into machines.
  • Utilize magnetic plates where applicable during mold placement.
  • Connect all utility hookups, including:
    • Electrical
    • Water
    • Hydraulics
  • Inspect mold setup for proper alignment and safety before machine start-up.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams for mold changes or troubleshooting.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training a plus).
  • 3-5 years experience in mold setup or plastic injection molding preferred.
  • Ability to use hand tools, especially torque wrenches, accurately.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and water systems.
  • Comfortable lifting heavy equipment and working in industrial environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular exposure to industrial machinery, noise, and standing for long periods.
  • May require overtime and shift work.
