Structural Welder

Use flux core wire - 045 diameter with CO2 gas on 3/8 plate to weld an open groove double bevel (45 degrees) no backing. Vertical and overhead positions. Must be able to Air Arc (Carbon Arc) in vertical position.

Must pass 3/8′ PL 3G and 4G test. FCAW and SMAW Dl.lAWS Standard.

Able to weld with supervision on structure and non-tight bulkheads (examples: fillet welds, angel butts, swash bulkheads).

Able to work with fitters and assist with sample fitting

Must be willing to be assigned to work areas outside of his specific skillset as deemed necessary by immediate supervisor and preform these duties to the best of their ability.

Ability to production weld with FCAW and SMAW on water tight and shell plate.

Able to carbon arc to the satisfaction of the welding supervisor.

Knowledge of shipyard welding procedures.

Back gouge and bevel plate acceptable to ISR General Standard Procedure.
