Wire EDM Programmer/Operator
Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wire EDM Operator with experience setting up and operating Mitsubishi EDM machines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Tool & Die blueprint reading, quality control, and machine programming. Wire EDM Programmer/Operator Responsibilities:
- Set up fixtures, wire, and workpieces on Wire EDM machines to meet job specifications.
- Load, edit, and optimize CNC programs; utilize G and M codes.
- Program, operate, and maintain Wire EDM machines using knowledge of material properties and processing techniques.
- Analyze blueprints, operation sheets, and mechanical drawings to ensure accurate part production.
- Ensure finished parts meet quality standards using precision measuring tools.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Maintain accurate documentation through control charts, travelers, and ERP labor reports.
- Perform daily cleaning of work tanks, tables, and wire path pulleys.
- Support company goals by taking ownership of tasks and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including use of proper PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment through daily housekeeping.
Wire EDM Programmer/Operator Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of Wire EDM experience (Mitsubishi controls preferred).
- Tool & Die blueprint reading experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with various wire types, sizes, and parameters for optimal machine performance.
- Proficiency in BOBCAD, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks (minimum 2 years).
- Strong math skills and ability to interpret technical documents.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Wire EDM Programmer/Operator Physical Requirements:
- Regularly lift, push, or pull up to 35 pounds.
- Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment as needed.
- Perform physical activities such as walking, reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping.
- Utilize fine and gross motor skills to handle tools and components.

- $22-$26/hr BOE
- M-F 40-hours
