  • Direct, review and manage daily operations and staff, including all reporting, conducting recruiting efforts and leading resource allocation activities
  • Monitor processes and budgets to reduce waste and increase efficiency
  • Develop a workforce plan to align the needs and priorities of projects and to identify and develop key employees
  • Effectively interpret operations staffing needs and communicate gaps to senior management¬†


Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate Wanzek's beliefs throughout the organization
  • Promote culture of quality workmanship in the field
  • Promote and communicate the Company quality policies and procedures
  • Develop operational policies and procedures for maximizing safety, performance and profitability
  • Participate and/or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts Monitor key metrics and develop operational strategies for profitability
  • Develop project matrix with the Project Management Team
  • Manage budget and coordinate materials to ensure ongoing operations are equipped and staffed
  • Establish, communicate, and evaluate progress towards field goals and benchmarks
  • Resolve all issues and concerns relating to field office operations
  • Work with Project Management Team on salary, allowances, payments, etc.
  • Develop best practices and standard tools to use to continuously improve operational efficiency
  • Streamline all field office operational, functional and administrative systems and insure they are in compliance with local laws and regulations
  • Develop workforce plan with Project Management Team for each project to include the general labor needs, supervisors, site management and equipment necessary for each project, as well as identify key employees and training needs that can be tied to SMART goals
  • Monitor and manage field office expenses with assigned budget
  • Oversee HR related procedures including recruitment, promotions, transfers, termination and salary negotiations
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations and drive closure of accompanying action items
  • Provide feedback and performance related discussions to staff
  • Provide relieving duty for Construction Managers as needed
  • Assist Director of Operations with corporate initiatives as needed
  • A strong knowledge of construction concepts, scheduling, project planning, and customer relations is required
  • Participate in applicable Phase Gate Meetings
  • Mandatory participation in applicable pre-activity meeting, i.e.
  • Civil FOM attends all civil based pre-activity meetings
  • Participate or review Bench Marking to ensure quality and compliance


  • Complete Performance Evaluations and process all ESRs, Wage Changes and Manpower requests
  • Evaluate, train, mentor and manage all field supervision

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Complete performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Cross-train staff to be able to move between industrial, civil, power, oil and gas, etc.



  • ASQ or Wanzek's Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in quality, industrial technology, business management, construction, science or related major or Five to ten years high level supervisory experience
  • Construction experience preferred


  • Take reasonable care of your own and others health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek's Zero Injury principles
  • Apply principles of quality, lean kaizen and continuous improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Read, analyze and interpret blueprints, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts or governmental regulations
  • Write reports, technical specifications, work instructions, procedures, business correspondence and document quality related issues and activities
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from project managers, superintendents, clients, customers and the general public
  • Effectively communicate and develop positive working relationships with the owner, owner's representative, and the Company's site supervision, in order to facilitate the quality objectives
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, statistics and geometry
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
