Industrial Electrician Job Summary:

Performs the day-to-day and long-term maintenance of our complex foundry and mill equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment. Responsible to troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numerical controls, power supplies, drives, motors, gear boxes, bearings, gauges and test equipment.

• Performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, and rebuilding, on industrial production machinery and supporting equipment.

• Review and assist with the creation of the maintenance schedule, work instructions, work logs and other company information.

• Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes.

• Interpret safety and work instructions, both verbal and written, to understand required specifications.

• Inspect machinery to maintain specified parameters.

• Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines, in close quarters and hot areas performing analysis and repair work.

• Operate mobile equipment, such as forklift, skid steer loader, shop crane, scissor lift, and articulating man lift, as required to perform maintenance duties.

Requirements

• Must be able to read and interpret mechanical and electric drawings and Blueprints.

• Must possess a basic understanding and ability to troubleshoot general mechanical systems such as Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Rotating Assemblies (bearings, & couplings, gears & gear trains, chains & sprockets, brakes & clutches, belts & pulleys).

• Knowledge in troubleshooting and rebuilding various types of pumps, e.g. centrifugal, diaphragm, and piston pumps.

• Ability to use precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.

• Experience with 13.2 volts, DC transformers from 12v to 1200v, 480 vac.

• Knowledge of Control Logix, Allan Bradley, Automax, Automate and Modicon.

• Use of Fluke 289 multimeter (company provided), ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes.

• Knowledge of AC and reliance DC drives.

• Knowledge of Red Lion controls preferred.

• Experience with replacing motor brushes on 1600 hp DC motors down to 5 hp.

• Knowledge of gas burners is essential.

• Advanced mechanical and electrical knowledge, ability and aptitude.

• Must be able to analyze and execute problem solving techniques.

• Must have the ability to work in a team setting as well as be a self-starter that can multitask.
