Benchmark Electrical is hiring an electrical Foreman. Must have Journeyman Electrician License. 

 

What our Electrical Foreman, will do:

  • Must know all company safety policies and always comply with and enforce them.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and log daily.
  • Ensure that the job site and all work meet safety regulations and codes
  • Report any incidents or near misses immediately to their Project Manager
  • Oversee, coordinate, and schedule the work of all field team members while providing guidance and leadership.
  • Instruct all field team members on assignments and obtain feedback on progress.
  • Track, enter, and report all crew labor daily.
  • Detail the project entirely before starting the job
  • Interpret blueprints, designs, and specifications to ensure all systems are installed according to plan and local codes.
  • Communicate with contractors and construction managers to ensure all work is coordinated with other trades.
  • Be involved in all job-related contractor meetings
  • Maintain project schedules and ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Track, log, and report all changes to the scope of work immediately to their Project Manager.
  • Create field tickets for any changes and have them signed by the construction manager daily.
  • Order and maintain an inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment per our quotes and estimates and have delivered to jobsite to ensure installations are completed on time.
  • Keep accurate records of work done and materials used for billing and reference.
  • Provide the office with all required documentation on time
  • Develop an understanding and assist the project manager with project financials.
  • Inspect work for quality and ensure that all work meets customer expectations.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for repair and to ensure compliance with local codes.
  • Review and account for QA/QC and installations to current NEC compliance
  • Completes required subordinate evaluations and provides timely and appropriate feedback
  • Using hand and power tools, assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools
  • Troubleshoot and test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring equipment and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, and test lamps
  • Available to work overtime and or/irregular business hours as requested
  • Facilitate and attend in-house training
  • Other duties as assigned

 

What our Electrical Foreman will bring:

  • Current Journeyman or Master Electrician with an Illinois License
  • Four or more years of previous electrical experience
  • Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations
  • Extensive experience with wiring systems and all phases of project installation, electrical control work, and troubleshooting and purchasing of electrical material and parts
  • Ability to correctly identify area classifications
  • Experience in commercial and industrial environments
  • Excellent communication skills, including both verbal and written
  • Able to assertively address problems with appropriate parties as they arise in a professional manner
  • Possess required personal tools
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification preferred

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work off all types of ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms (electric or gas-powered)
  • Able to work at various heights up to 50 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, or other safe work areas
  • Able to work in restricted areas, utility holes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, and attics
  • Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
  • Able to carry tools and materials up to 50 pounds from the ground to overhead
  • Able to constantly move on feet, climbing ladders and working overhead
  • Possess good vision (normal or corrected)
