Job Description Position Summary:
Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a hands-on Industrial Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations at a high-performance manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for overseeing all equipment maintenance, facility upkeep, safety enforcement, and coordination with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring experience with large presses, welding, PLCs, and electrical systems, as well as a strong ability to manage people and prioritize maintenance needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Planning:
  • Supervise and schedule daily activities for a small maintenance team (2 direct reports: repair technician & electrician/custodian).
  • Coordinate with Production Supervisors, Tool Room, and Engineering to address equipment and tooling needs.
  • Monitor maintenance activities, troubleshoot problems, and lead corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Provide team members with the tools, instructions, and training needed to succeed.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations consistently and fairly.
  • Train and certify all forklift operators as required.
Safety & Compliance:
  • Enforce safety standards and coach associates on proper operating procedures.
  • Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies and work with the Safety Manager on continuous improvement.
Facility & Equipment Management:
  • Oversee facility maintenance, including cleanliness, equipment upkeep, and overall organization.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all machinery and systems within the facility.
  • Support preventative maintenance programs and ensure timely completion of repairs.
Employee Relations:
  • Maintain attendance records, conduct performance reviews, and administer discipline when necessary.
  • Promote a positive team environment and uphold high morale among team members.
  • Support ongoing development and training for maintenance staff.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a metal stamping or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with:
    • Large mechanical presses
    • Welding and fabrication
    • PLC troubleshooting and programming
    • Electrical systems and facility maintenance
  • Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a hands-on environment.
  • Ability to bring and maintain your own set of tools.Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, reach, and work in various plant environments.
    • Tolerance for temperature changes, noise, and occasional heights.
    • Strong visual and auditory abilities to spot safety or equipment issues.
    Compensation & Benefits:
