What you'll do

The primary purpose of the Regional Maintenance Mechanic I is to assist the Director and Supervisor of Off-Site Properties by supervising and participating in the operations of the Maintenance Department. Responsible for a variety of advanced repair, preventative maintenance tasks, and maintenance documentation on various equipment throughout the facility to ensure that all equipment is safe and operational.

  • Assists staff members on various repair maintenance and preventative maintenance work orders throughout Bassett Healthcare Network to ensure that all mechanical equipment is safe and operational.
  • Performs various work requests to ensure that department/area customer's facility issues and needs are addressed in a timely and quick manner.
  • Takes "ownership" of assigned tasks that effectively and positively represents the Facilities/Engineering Services department and ensures completion of work requests and ensures customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work flow with limited assistance from others.
  • Assists staff with use and repair of equipment.
  • Assists with new employee training as needed.
  • Develops material lists for jobs/work, ensuring timely acquisition.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with job related contacts, such as management, patients, employees, contractors, and vendors in order to improve overall departmental and area performance and to ensure that all job contacts are pleasant.
  • Order and pick up materials.
  • Ability to schedule day around material locations, task locations and priority of task.
  • Maintain a clean, valid NYS Drivers License. Extensive travel is required in all weather conditions.
  • On-call on a rotating basis.
  • Ability to cover multiple entities, covering 8 counties with knowledge of facilities.
  • Ability to travel daily throughout network locations
  • Respond to emergency alarms such as fire/burglary and all facility related alarms.
  • Other duties as assigned by department leadership.
What we need from you

Education:
  • High School or GED, Vocational or Technical school graduate or equivalent, preferred
Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of maintenance Mechanic experience, preferred
License/ Certification:
  • Must possess a valid NYS Class D driver's license and maintain eligibility of insurability to operate the organization's vehicles, required

Physical Requirements:
  • Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs, of force constantly to move objects

Pay Range

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.

USD $25.73/Hr.
Pay Range Maximum:

USD $38.69/Hr.
