Combo Welder

EXCEL Group is seeking an experienced Combo Welder to join our team. As a Combo Welder, you will play a vital role in ensuring the structural integrity and quality of welded components across various industrial projects.

Responsibilities:

• Perform welding tasks using a combination of different techniques, such as Stick, MIG, TIG, and Flux Core, depending on project requirements.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to comprehend welding specifications and assembly needs.
• Fabricate and assemble metal structures, equipment, and piping systems through the precision welding of components.
• Select the appropriate welding methods, materials, and equipment based on the type and thickness of metals.
• Prepare surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and removing scale, slag, and other impurities.
• Securely position and clamp workpieces using jigs, fixtures, or other positioning tools.
• Safely operate welding equipment to create precise and high-quality welds.
• Inspect welded joints for defects, ensuring compliance with welding codes and industry standards.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as fitters and inspectors, to achieve accurate assembly and installation.
• Assist in setting up and laying out welding projects, ensuring proper alignment and fit-up.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

•  Welding certification from a recognized program is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Combo Welder in industrial environments.
• Proficiency in multiple welding techniques, including Stick, MIG, TIG, and Flux Core.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Comprehensive understanding of metallurgy, welding processes, and industry standards.
• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality welds.
• Physical capability to work in various positions, including bending, stooping, and lifting heavy materials.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to welding.
