Job Description Maintenance Technician/Welder
Summit Skilled Solution is hiring a Maintenance Technician/Welder that will travel to various job sites domestically to coordinate and perform equipment maintenance, welding, and fabrication tasks. This individual supports both field operations and maintenance at the Fort Wayne job site, ensuring all equipment is functional, compliant, and safe.
Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients to plan and schedule maintenance activities.
  2. Perform field maintenance by completing preventive maintenance on a variety of mechanical systems and equipment, following manuals, diagrams, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.
  3. Perform yard maintenance duties, including maintenance and repair of engines, hydraulic tools, conveyor systems, portable hydraulic equipment, and related machinery.
  4. Remove, fabricate, and install parts using tools such as grinders, forklifts, MIG and stick welders, plasma cutters, and acetylene torches.
  5. Stay current in the field by attending training workshops, reading technical publications, and building professional networks.
  6. Coordinate work with outside vendors to ensure quality standards are met.
  7. Lead the Safety Committee in collaboration with the Yard Manager to promote a safe working environment.
  8. Accurately document work activities, including travel logs, work reports, expenses, and equipment inspections.
  9. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
  10. Operate independently with minimal supervision.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Experience, Education & Licenses:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-year technical degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Valid U.S. Passport or ability to acquire a U.S. Passport
  • Welding experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems; must be able to read and interpret schematics.
Salary25.00 Hour
