Responsible for permanently joining metal parts using high heat application to form a permanent bond. May specialize in one of hundreds of different processes of welding to join metals together. Under general supervision, performs safe and efficient duties necessary in the heavy construction industry. Must be able to travel (relocate) from jobsite to jobsite for continued employment, able to work both scheduled and non-scheduled overtime, and able to work night (second or third) shift assignment. If slipforming operation is in progress, able to work 12 hours or more per day, 7 days per week, for two weeks plus period of time. Must be capable of welding 3G and 4G 7818 Stick and dual shield wire. Must have own tools for the trade, Welding Hood, gloves safety toe boots,sleeves,ETC.
