Install and maintain fiber optic cables and related infrastructure within the battery storage facility

Terminate splice and test fiber optic cables to ensure proper connectivity and performance

Install and maintain fiber optic enclosures connectors and other network equipment
-
Diagnose and resolve fiber optic network issues including signal loss and equipment malfunctions
-
Troubleshoot test and repair fiber optic cables and related components
-
Perform routine maintenance and inspections of the fiber optic network
-
Conduct fiber optic testing using OTDR power meter and other relevant equipment
-
Document installation testing and maintenance activities
-
Maintain accurate records of fiber optic cable routes splices and terminations
-
Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations related to fiber optic work
-
Ensure proper handling and storage of fiber optic cables and equipment
-
Work safely in and around electrical and mechanical equipment
-
Strong understanding of fiber optic theory installation practices and testing procedures
-
Proficiency in fiber optic splicing termination and troubleshooting
-
Familiarity with different types of fiber optic cables connectors and enclosures
-
Knowledge of relevant testing equipment including OTDRs power meters and light sources
-
Ability to work with hand tools and power tools

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and diagrams
-
Experience working with fiber optic test equipment

Good problemsolving and troubleshooting skills

High school diploma or equivalent

Relevant certifications e.g. Fiber Optics Technician certification may be preferred

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation may be required

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good communication and interpersonal skills
