We are seeking a candidate who possesses the skills necessary to pass the pre-employment welding examination and apply technical knowledge in practical welding tasks. The successful applicant will assist with component installation, fit-up, and alignment, and must be familiar with equipment used for Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) processes.
You will verify the position of metal components using precision tools such as straight edges, squares, calipers, and rules, and utilize conventional tools for preparation and cleanup, including grinders, buffers, and chipping hammers. The role includes tack-welding components to secure them for final welding and performing front-line inspections to ensure welds meet acceptance criteria. Adherence to all safety procedures is essential.
