- PAY: $30-80/hour PER DIEM: $178-$208 based on location

Job Description:
The ideal candidate will support testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of substation equipment ranging from low voltage through transmission-level systems.
This role requires strong technical knowledge, safety discipline, and travel flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform testing and commissioning of: Power transformers, Circuit breakers (LV/MV/HV), Current Transformers (CTs) & Potential Transformers (PTs), Protective relays, Switchgear and control systems
- Conduct electrical tests including: Insulation resistance (Megger), Turns ratio (TTR), Power factor / Doble testing, Primary & secondary injection
- Interpret: One-line diagrams, Schematics and wiring diagrams
- Execute switching and clearance procedures (as authorized)
- Troubleshoot protection and control circuits
- Generate and review test reports and commissioning documentation
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA standards and NFPA 70E electrical safety requirements
- Support QA/QC processes and client deliverables
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years substation or electrical field experience
- Strong understanding of high-voltage systems and protection & control schemes
- Hands-on experience with relay testing equipment (Omicron, Megger, Doble, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret prints and schematics
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel (80-90%)
Preferred Qualifications
- NETA or NICET Certification preferred (Level II or higher)
- Experience in data centers or utility-scale substations
- OSHA 10/30 Certification
- Arc Flash / NFPA 70E training
- Switching experience (utility or industrial)
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Position requires the use of PPE, including: Steel-Toe work boots, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must have reliable transportation to the job site.
- Able to pass a background check and drug screening.
