*INCREASED* Pay Ranges: $40.00 per hour, plus $155.00 a day per diem, non-local
Job Description
The test Electrician is responsible for the layout, installation, and repair of shipboard cables, lighting, and electronic equipment, as well as the ship's power.
Electricians utilize an assortment of hand and power tools, a variety of test equipment, along a working knowledge of blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
Shipyard production areas at times involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions, as well as multiple shifts.
As with almost every position in the shipyard, an Electrician may be required to work either day or night, depending upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time.

Basic Qualifications
*High School diploma or equivalent. Requires a minimum of four (4) years of electrical experience in the commercial or naval marine electrical field.
*Test equipment setup and handling
*Cable Testing knowledge "CAT 5 Fiber Optic"
*Motor control and power distribution systems
Preferred Qualifications
*Knowledge of high voltage applications
*Proficient with testing and operation of Power, Combat, Communication, Radar, and Sonar systems
*Competency with schedmatics, test procedures, and troubleshooting
Candidates must pass an interview with the hiring manager.
