Job Overview

Kodiak Labor Solutions is hiring experienced MIG Rollout Pipe Welders for a long-term fabrication shop project in the Midwest.

This position offers $40/hour, $140/day per diem, and a consistent 60-hour workweek for welders with professional MIG pipe welding experience.

The work is performed in a fast-paced production fabrication shop and includes both freehand pipe welding and rollout welding using shop equipment and welding manipulators. Qualified candidates should be able to consistently produce high-quality welds while working from established welding procedures, drawings, and specifications.

What You'll Do

• Perform MIG/GMAW welding on carbon steel pipe
• Complete freehand and rollout pipe welds
• Operate welding manipulators and other shop equipment for rollout welding
• Perform root, fill, and cap welds according to applicable welding procedures
• Weld pipe in multiple positions as required
• Use MIG/GMAW, FCAW, and metal core welding processes
• Inspect pipe preparation and fit-up before welding
• Maintain proper penetration, bead profile, and overall weld quality
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and welding specifications
• Identify and correct weld defects when necessary
• Coordinate with pipefitters, supervisors, and quality control personnel
• Maintain a clean and organized fabrication area
• Follow all shop safety requirements and welding procedures

Qualifications

• Professional MIG pipe welding experience required
• Experience welding carbon steel pipe
• Previous rollout pipe welding experience preferred
• Experience operating a welding manipulator preferred
• Working knowledge of MIG/GMAW, FCAW, and metal core welding processes
• Strong understanding of pipe preparation, fit-up, and welding procedures
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and weld symbols
• Previous fabrication shop or production welding experience preferred
• Ability to consistently produce quality pipe welds in a fast-paced production environment
• Must be able to pass a hands-on weld test
• Reliable attendance and ability to work the full 60-hour weekly schedule
