Evolved Lighting & Energy is a growing lighting design, controls and installation company based out of Columbus, Ohio. We service Commercial, Industrial, and Municipal Customers throughout the state of Ohio and Midwest!

Job Description:

The primary purpose of this role is to serve as a Controls Electrician at Evolved Lighting & Energy for a variety of customers in Ohio and the Midwest. As a Controls Electrician, this candidate can showcase their talents. This candidate will lead small crews who install DDC / PLC systems related to critical building systems including HVAC, lighting, building automation, security/keycard access, closed circuit television and energy management.

Job Duties:
  • Installation of temperature control systems, key card access, and video surveillance systems
  • Installation of DDC/PLC Control systems related, but not limited to: temperature control systems, Electromechanical equipment, lighting, and building access/security systems.
  • Installations include running conduit, pulling wire, field device/control panel install and terminations of all devices required for the system application.
  • Install system hardware such as electrical conduit, sensor wiring, power supplies, control system enclosures, etc.
  • Assist with checkout for system functionality and performance to ensure proper operations according to contract requirements and shop drawings/sequence of operations, etc.
  • Complete documentation of all work done, including as-built drawings, wire layouts, etc.
  • Provide daily project status updates and communication to the Project Management team.
  • Serving a key role in the continual improvement and development of the department overall, they are expected to serve as both mentor and role model for level I & II Technicians.
  • Communicate with vendors, engineers, owners, service managers, and other contractors to ensure jobs are completed within scope and on budget.
  • Perform layout, plan, and execute small jobs while leading a small crew.
  • Perform quality assurance checks.
  • Install activities will include layout of control panel, junction boxes, and operator stations. Control systems must be compliant with best Electrical practices, adhering to relevant NEC code as well as NFPA 70E safety guidelines.
  • Additional duties as needed.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to read and understand wiring diagrams and blueprints.
  • An up to date understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Problem solving skills including troubleshooting.
  • HVAC service, or installation is a plus.
  • Ability to work with others and follow instructions.
  • Must have experience with building control panels.
  • Electrical service, or installation experience is a must.
  • Ability to bend conduit correctly, pull wire, mount panels, and terminate.
  • Able to read PLC or DDC schematics and terminate properly without hesitation.
  • DDC/PLC Controls install experience with some or all of the following equipment: HVAC, VFD's, boilers, generators, heat exchangers, pumps, fans, modulating valves, fluid flow and air flow systems, heat trace, electrical and controls systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in the use of Windows based PC's and Windows based applications is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Experience operating Scissor Lift and/or Boom Lift
