Great Basin Staffing LLC is seeking a highly skilled and self-driven LGV/AGV Technician to support the overnight operation of automated Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs). The successful candidate will act as a technical leader and subject matter expert, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of materials via automation systems while conducting mechanical and electrical diagnostics and repairs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor E80 LGV system for faults such as:

    • Sensor errors, traffic issues, signal loss, and improper load placements

  • Perform both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on systems

  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks (lubrication, calibration, etc.)

  • Retrieve jammed pallets and assist in traffic resolution

  • Provide technical guidance and training to teammates and support staff

  • Actively participate in Safety and Food Safety trainings and ensure compliance

  • Assist warehouse and operations staff as needed

  • Maintain detailed reports on system performance and improvement opportunities

  • Support commissioning and automation expansion projects


Qualifications Required:

  • Advanced knowledge of:

    • PLCs, VFDs, Servos, Ethernet/Wireless communications, and HMIs

  • Proven experience with mechanical and electrical diagnostics using schematics and diagnostic tools (e.g. multimeter, laptop)

  • Ability to configure, replace, and calibrate industrial controls and sensors

  • Understanding of electrical systems up to 480V, including DC and AC systems

  • Working knowledge of automation safety standards

  • Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs, climb, bend, kneel, and work in tight or elevated spaces

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • Must be proficient in English (read, write, speak)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution

  • Certifications in automation, BAS, or industrial controls

  • Advanced skills in reading P&ID drawings and control schematics

  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS)

  • Experience in high-speed manufacturing or logistics environments

  • Proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting


Shift & Work Environment:

  • Night Shift required; schedule may include weekends, holidays, and overtime

  • Role requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, and manual handling of components

  • Work involves indoor and occasional outdoor conditions in a warehouse or plant setting
