Position Summary

The QA Technician will work in conjunction with the Production Team & Quality Assurance department to support processing and production requirements to ensure our customers and consumers receive the best quality product.

Essential Job Functions

§ Performs microbiological analysis of raw materials and finished products

§ Responsible for Hold/Release/Rejection of finished goods.

§ Performs chemical analysis, finished product and sensory evaluations of all products.

§ Verifies compliance and alerts management of any deviations.

§ Performs weight checks, temperature checks, ingredient usage and distribution, finished product appearance, code date verification and pH testing.

§ Performs environmental testing

§ Flexibility to vary work schedule dependent upon production and staffing needs

§ Adhere to company and governmental policies and regulations (e.g. SOP, GMP, LOTO, Safety, etc.)

§ Report all equipment malfunctions and abnormalities to Plant Shift Supervisors, Management and/or Maintenance

§ Other Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

§ High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

§ 1-3 years prior production/manufacturing experience or 2 years relevant - QA technician experience.

§ Knowledge of computers and computer systems, including but not limited to, data entry

§ Proficient math and/or counting abilities. Ability to achieve a minimum score of 80% math on company math test.

§ Creative problem solving skills, sound judgment, and an orientation towards innovation.

§ Technical knowledge and good reasoning abilities.

§ Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

§ Proven analytical skills with attention to details.

§ Demonstrated ability to communicate and build relationships across all levels of the organization, present ideas concisely and clearly articulate ideas verbally and in writing.

§ Ability to work well under tight timelines and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy

§ Read, speak and write English

Physical Requirements

Usual plant environment with frequent walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, balancing, tasting and smelling. Constant exposure to temperatures of 35 degrees. Strength and endurance required. The employee must repetitively lift and/or move up to

Frequent use of eye, arm, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office and manufacturing machinery and equipment.

Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud levels due to industrial equipment and machinery
