Overall role description:

Croda has an opening for an electrical-instrumentation technician within our maintenance team. This individual should have Journeyperson papers in the electrical trade. This is a shift work role, working 12 hour rotating shifts on the 'DuPont' rotation, and includes a 7 day long break. This role is not on-call, although may voluntarily accept overtime calls. Knowledge of safe work practices and a commitment to safety is required. The pay rate is $44.40 / hr. Additional details below:

Key Duties/Purpose of Role:

• The Instrument Electrical position is responsible for the support of manufacturing equipment and all required maintenance tasks associated with it. This is a shift work role, following the DuPont 24/7 Shift Rotation. Electrical or Instrumentation Journeyperson Certification (papers) are required for this role. Consideration will be made for individuals with 15+ years of experience in an electrical or instrumentation firm who have developed skills of a trained Electrical Journeyperson and are able to demonstrate their qualifications.

• This position is required to perform routine facility maintenance. Installs, maintains, adjusts, troubleshoots, repairs, and performs preventative and predictive maintenance on various types of electrical and electronic circuitry, and electro-mechanical devices incorporated in manufacturing and process equipment. Experience in PLC operations to include basic system configurations and hardware, data manipulation, and data communications. Experience working with industrial instrumentation and transmitters.

• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with internal customers to ensure that work is implemented in a safe and timely manner. Attend site meetings, risk assessment studies and review meetings as required. Use computer systems for planned and reactive maintenance activities (SAP).

• This role carries no line management responsibilities, but the post holder will be expected to work both as part of a small team and on their own depending on the tasks being performed. The person may be expected to coach and advise less experienced employees and contractors e.g. apprentices.

• Use planning skills in order to carry out daily maintenance and small project tasks in a safe, healthy and environmentally acceptable manner.

• Identify materials and equipment required to rectify faults and breakdowns.

• Ensure compliance with the relative legislative and site codes and standards within the scope of the role and be accountable for their own Health and Safety and those around them who could be affected by their actions.

• Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the workshops and workplace.

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required:

• Required Electrical Journey Person Papers. Or 20 years of electrical experience with an Electrical or instrumentation firm and able to demonstrate Journey Person qualifications.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift and move items up to 50 pounds and 155 lbs. with help

• Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head

• Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds

• Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists

• Ability to climb ladders and stair towers safely and without limitation

• Ability to work in production environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, not air-conditioned

• Must be able to stand/walk for up to 12 hours

• Required to move throughout the production floor including uneven surfaces, climb stairs and ladders.

• Must be able to wear a full-face respirator and pass all pulmonary function tests.

• Must be able to pass drug test, physical, and background check
