Plumbing Mechanic

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Mechanic to join our team for a new construction project in Sanford, NC. The Plumbing Mechanic will be responsible for the layout, installation, assembly, and repair of plumbing systems and piping on a large-scale new construction build. Candidates must have experience with various piping materials and tools, along with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, assemble, and repair plumbing and piping systems according to project plans and specifications.
• Work with materials including PVC, copper, PEX, cast iron, stainless steel, carbon steel, and Victaulic systems.
• Perform pipe threading, cutting, grooving, and joining as required.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and isometric drawings to ensure accurate installation.
• Test plumbing systems for leaks and verify compliance with safety codes and regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and other trades on-site to meet construction deadlines.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following OSHA and company safety standards.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of plumbing or pipefitting experience on new construction projects (commercial or industrial).
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, code requirements, and installation practices.
• Ability to operate hand tools, grooving machines, pipe benders, threaders, and other equipment.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Previous experience on a new construction build.
