We are seeking a Construction Layout Specialist to support building layout and as-built data collection in a fast-paced construction environment. This role partners closely with field teams, project management, and VDC/BIM professionals to execute layout needs accurately and efficiently across both short-term and long-term projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Transfer control points and elevation benchmarks
- Establish additional control points, grid lines, and offsets for:
- Building layout
- Piping layout
- Other control needs
- Perform as-built data collection and reporting
- Interpret contract documents, design models, and construction models
- Maintain accurate documentation including:
- Control setup references
- Control lines and offsets
- Field revisions
- Daily field logs
- Identify field discrepancies and recommend solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve layout-related issues
- Inspect and maintain survey and layout equipment
- Communicate with VDC/BIM modeling teams to:
- Import layout point updates
- Export as-built data
- Execute layout tasks using:
- Tape measures
- Squares
- Builders levels
- Transits
- Robotic Total Stations
- Perform mathematical calculations related to layout and engineering
- Travel as required for job site assignments
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma required
- Apprenticeship certification OR
- 4+ years of construction-related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered
Required Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong analytical and mathematical ability
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards
- Experience with:
- Building construction
- General carpentry
- Basic layout techniques
- Formwork systems
Preferred Technical Experience
- Trimble Total Station equipment
- Trimble Field Link
- Trimble Access
- AutoCAD
- Revit
- Microsoft Office
- Laptop and iPad field use
Physical Requirements
