Job Title: Industrial Electrician Technician Location: Union, IL

Salary: Up to $45/hr. Depending on Experience

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Department: Maintenance

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that safety policies, housekeeping rules and guidelines, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed
  • Install, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and equipment
  • Design, build, bench test and install electrical panels
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications and schematics in order to effectively troubleshoot, maintain and repair equipment
  • Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance through inspection of electrical systems, equipment, and components
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
  • Direct and train other workers and apprentices to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
  • Work on other electrical projects as required
  • Ensure all work performed adheres to all relevant organizational, state, and federal safety regulations, codes, and specifications
  • Complete all paperwork as required
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Certified and Licensed Industrial Electrician
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation
  • Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications
  • Minimum 5 years' Industrial Electrician experience required with preference given to those with a background in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of safe operating procedures
  • Self-starter, with developed analytical and troubleshooting skills

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift 20-50 lbs frequently
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs occasionally
  • Continuous standing
  • Use of hands and feet to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, controls, press buttons, levers and pedals
  • Bending, twisting and reaching
  • Repetitive movement
  • Frequent walking
  • Wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, gloves and any other protective equipment deemed necessary
