Job Description

DL Jones Construction is looking for a Millwright / Ironworker Foreman for a project located in Fargo, North Dakota. 

Foreman Qualifications:  

  • 3 or more years progressive experience as a Foreman 
  • 3 or more year’s experience as a Iron Worker
  • 5 or more year’s experience as a Millwright
  • Previous experience leading 15-25 people.
  • Extensive knowledge of reading and interpreting construction blueprints and specifications
  • Strong planning and scheduling knowledge
  • Vast experience in completing heavy crane picks.
  • Excellent skills in the installation of structural steel and equipment. Including rigging and hoisting

Shift Information:

  • Schedule is (6) 10 hr. days Monday - Saturday 

 

Foreman Brief Description:

The Foreman will lead crew members daily serving as a key participant in building long-lasting relationships with DL Jones Construction team members, clients, and subcontractors. The ideal candidate will lead by example and take responsibility with integrity and honesty to deliver value and project success.

 

Foreman Responsibilities:

Oversee Millwrights, Ironworkers Crane Operators, Riggers, Welders, and Laborers. Our work includes the complete installation and alignment of industrial machinery and equipment such as presses, conveyors, pumps, large tanks, motors, structural and misc steel.

  • Participates in and monitors “Safety Toolbox Meetings.”
  • Ensures timely responses, actions, and corrections to any safety issues / needs.
  • Orders manpower as required through the Project Superintendent
  • Communicates with the Project Superintendent regarding all aspects of the job.
  • Assigns daily crew tasks.
  • Recognizes, addresses, and resolves issues as they arise on the jobsite.
  • Identifies needs and deficiencies in the “look-ahead” plan and communicates with the Project Superintendent
  • Ensures crew compliance with the project policies and procedures.
  • Works with the crew to overcome challenges with effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Identifies, verifies, and reports any scheduling conflicts with other trades
  • Leads crew in a productive manner
  • Assesses crew skills to be able to coach and teach
  • Accountable for ensuring work completed meets and exceeds company quality standards

 Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift up to 80 lbs regularly
  • Able to climb up and down stairs regularly
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to stoop, bend, and squat for long periods of time
  • Able to work at heights without fear
