Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

The Staff Plumber plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing plumbing systems across Connecticut Water Company facilities & customer homes. This position ensures the safe and efficient operation of water distribution infrastructure, supports facility upgrades, and responds to plumbing-related emergencies. Using a company vehicle, the role is responsible for traveling to various service areas within Connecticut daily. The role requires strong technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRINCIPAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, maintain, and repair piping systems, fixtures, and water-related equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify and resolve issues.
  • Respond to emergency plumbing calls and perform corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal plumbing codes and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders on infrastructure improvement projects.
  • Support cross-functional teams during facility renovations and expansions.
  • Recommend improvements to plumbing systems for efficiency and reliability.
MinimumQualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Connecticut Master Plumber license (P-1).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial or industrial plumbing.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of water distribution systems and plumbing codes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures.
