Description

The Electrical Foreman is responsible for the supervision of electricians, work crews and the project as a whole, including but not limited to; planning, crew development, material management and quality control. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the work of subordinates and interacting with site foreman to ensure quality, efficiency, safety and compliance with federal, state, local and company safety regulations.

 

Position Summary:

The Electrical Foreman is responsible for the supervision of electricians, work crews and the project as a whole, including but not limited to; planning, crew development, material management and quality control. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the work of subordinates and interacting with site foreman to ensure quality, efficiency, safety and compliance with federal, state, local and company safety regulations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure crews are on site, prepared and equipped to perform their assignments
  • Conducts and leads tool box and safety meetings
  • Liaise and interface to socialize plans with client representatives, company and client quality control and project management team in a professional manner
  • Ensure foreman and crews are following all client, company and OSHA safety standards
  • Ensures all work is conducted in accordance with NEC and NFPA requirement as well as local, city, state, and national electrical codes, and all Company and Client standards. 
  • Conduct regular inspections of crews’ work to ensure consistency and quality
  • Prepare daily timesheets, documenting & approving work performed, materials used, costs, etc.
  • Assist foremen with training of new crew members
  • Create an efficient, safe work environment
  • Organize and plan work weekly and daily to ensure crews are productive and safe
  • Plans, supervises and performs all phases of installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of electrical systems
  • Inspects installations for quality, ensuring codes are met
  • Provides customer and client with cost estimate of proposed electrical installation, repair and/or maintenance
  • Performs cost estimates and projections for electrical projects 
  • Reviews and evaluates electrical procedures
  • Evaluates employees' progress, trains and mentors new team members 
  • Ensures project remains under-budget and proper quality equipment and tools are utilized
  • Maintains a proper record of completed tasks and the methods used to achieve goals and objectives
  • Attends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma, or Equivalent
  • Four (4) years' supervisory experience in oil and gas industry
  • License/Certifications:
    • Current and valid driver's license with a clean driving record 
    • OSHA 10, or ability to obtain upon hire
    • H2S, or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Post Job Offer Requirements:
    • Take and pass a pre-employment drug test

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: 

  • Knowledgeable and experienced in oilfield operations
  • Knowledge and experience with power tools, electrical equipment and construction equipment
  • Knowledge of electrical codes 
  • Knowledge of proper electrical equipment use conducive to conditions and assignments including adherence to Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations
  • Demonstrated ability in supervising and leading others
  • Must be proficient with hand and power tools as well as heavy equipment utilized in an industrial oil field setting
  • Able to perform all tasks and responsibilities in a professional manner
  • Skilled in electrical installation specifications and procedures in an industrial oil field setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with positive interpersonal skills
  • Skilled in scheduling crews and managing daily customer deliverables
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, operational and mechanical systems including installation, test, maintenance and repair
  • Understanding of how electrical system operates under normal and emergency conditions
  • Understanding of electrical schematics, diagrams and blueprints 
  • Skilled in repair of electrical equipment, wiring, and other fixtures. 
  • Strong mechanical, analytical and solution driven skills 
  • Computer skills commensurate with program and job applications.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Etc.) 
  • Basic math skills 
  • Strong troubleshooting ability 
  • Ability to diagnose system malfunctions, locate cause of breakdown and recommend solution 
  • Ability to recognize and respond to dangerous situations or emergencies such as high voltage systems, electrical fires, loose hot wires, broken power lines, etc.
  • Ability to give direction and oversight to helpers and apprentices
