Responsible for planning and construction of formwork to place concrete.


  • Promote and comply with all company and safety policies and procedures
  • Read and understand project drawings.
  • Construct (from lumber or forming system) concrete foundations and install to correct locations and elevations.
  • Build forms to hold, and set anchor bolts and other embeds into formwork.
  • Install rebar reinforcement for concrete foundations.
  • Spread concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, using float to bring water to surface and produce soft topping
  • Level, smooth and shape surfaces of freshly poured concrete using straightedge and float or power screed
  • Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces using power grinder or chisel and hammer and patch holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound
  • Produce rough concrete surface using broom
  • Mix concrete using hoe or concrete-mixing machine
  • May direct sub-grade work, mixing of concrete and setting of forms
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Other duties as assigned by Foreman and Superintendent


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience


  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek’s Zero Injury principles
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Add and subtract two digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10's and 100's and ability to perform these operations using units weight measurement and volume
  • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
  • Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standards
