Currently we are seeking a candidate to join our United States Construction Services team as a Lineman.

SUMMARY:

The primary role of a Lineman will be to work on a crew installing new infrastructure for Edison. This includes pulling primary and secondary cable, making secondary connections in hand holes, transformers and electrical panels. The Lineman will also assist the Journeyman with making both overhead and underground primary connections and operating pulling equipment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Travel to various job locations
  • Load and unload tools, materials and supplies into and out of vehicles at crew headquarters and job site.
  • Lift, pull and carry insulators, cross-arms, equipment, tools, grounds, dampers, and other materials to and from job sites.
  • Load and unload tools, materials.
  • Climb poles using boot hooks or aerial lift.
  • Work will include the use of hand and power tools; digging holes by hand for pole installation; climbing ladders, poles; working at heights above 35' on poles and in aerial lifts; manholes and confined spaces.
  • Set and install underground structures, locates, pulls, removes, splices or terminates cables.
  • Operate hydraulic equipment including: boom truck, digger, pole tamper, and bucket truck.
  • Operate lift equipment such as aerial lifts and line truck booms.
  • Operate forklift to load and unload work materials and supplies.
  • Receive and review work assignments and routes; plans routes, check directions and locations; obtain vehicle safety inspection.
  • Walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl or squat to access structures and equipment.
  • Lift metal cabinet doors.
  • Unlock / re-lock gates, doors, enclosures and manholes, as needed.
  • Use hand and power tools to open access panels, lift manhole covers.
Requirements:
  • California Pole Climbing Certification
  • Digger Derrick Certified
  • Bucket Truck Certified
  • Must have a valid state Class A driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must be able to read maps
  • Willing and able to work outdoors where they will experience extreme temperatures and possibly noise, and lift up to 80 pounds (see physical requirements)
  • Must be able to safely operate heavy equipment, forklifts, and mobile cranes accordance to OSHA regulations.
  • If hired, must be able to verify eligibility to work in the United States and pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must have passed a California DMV medical exam by first day of employment
*Pay Range: $33.00-$35.00
