Job Description:
Joining together of different types of metal materials with a variety of welding processes; the most basic of which are, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) also known as "stick welding” and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW) also known as “wire welding.”.
Work is performed in a heavy industrial shipyard environment and may involve confined spaces, heights, varying weather conditions, and day or night shifts.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of welding experience
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards for welding and fabrication processes
- Minimum 3 Yrs. Welding experience in FCAW and SMAW
- Must have the ability to pass a military specification welding assessment in the vertical (3G), horizontal (2G) and overhead (4G) positions.
