A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Tower Crane Mechanic/Technician that can operate and inspect cranes to diagnose defects.
• Must have in-depth knowledge of tools and their uses.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required for field technician positions.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of but not limited to; PLC, CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS, LICCON, Medium Voltage (600 VAC) and Greer systems.
• Possess strong knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures involved in maintenance, repair, and replacement of parts.
• Ability to pass and maintain alternating current (AC) Electrician’s Journeyman training and licensing. (if applicable)
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
• Perform periodic inspections on the boom and structural components.
• Read, understand, and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications.
• Prepares for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
• Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision
• Maintain conformity to safety requirements, manufacturer procedures, and other regulations.
• Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications.
• Properly fills out working reports, hour’s reports, time sheets, hour’s overviews, work orders, and expense reports.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be able to operate and navigate iPad for reports and emails.
• Ability to work overtime as well as on weekends.
• Travel is required periodically.
• Repair and maintain all sizes of cranes as well as other heavy equipment.
• Perform diagnosis, repair, and reconditioning of machine systems and components as needed.
• Perform planned maintenance and inspections.
• Operate and test repaired equipment and confirm that specifications are met.
• Complete thorough documentation on all reports and forms as required with work assignments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor in a professional and efficient manner.
• Ability to read, understand, interpret, and apply hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematic diagram information for troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair.
• In depth knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
• Must be willing to travel, as needed.
• Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Must have the ability to function effectively in a fast paced, team-oriented work environment.
• Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees.
• Must be able to work (flexible hours) extended hours including nights, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time.
