RICHMOND COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM (RCSS)
In accordance with RCBOE Salary Schedules
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Work Year - 12 months
Services and maintains all plumbing and sewer devices (some new construction and installation of new equipment). Services and maintains all food service equipment that pertains to plumbing.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: (Asterisk for essential job duties.)
Responds to maintenance requests and restores all plumbing equipment, devices, sewerage systems and food service equipment to proper working order.(*)
Trouble shoots and makes repairs according to specifications. (*)
Reports any problems observed while on the job. (*)
Maintains records (service tickets) on work completed and turns into foreman along with travel log at the end of each work day. (*)
Maintains assigned vehicle inventory. (*)
Clean debris after job is completed.
Provides personal "basic" plumbing tools on every job on a daily basis. (*)
The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned or required by such employee's supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law board policy administrative regulation, department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
Leadership ability with good interpersonal skills. Ability to read blueprints and schematics. Ability to interpret plumbing codes. Knowledge of plumbing tools, equipment, and materials and their use. Must have ability to trouble shoot and solve problems.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
Four years experience on the job in the field of plumbing. High School Education or equivalent preferred.
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid a valid state driver's license
Good physical condition (lifting, digging ditches, etc.). Ability to lift and move heavy objects (100 lbs. regularly and over 100 lbs. as needed). Stand for extended periods of time and complete work requiring considerable physical exertion. Extended exposure to inclement weather when needed.
Requires traveling to various sites on a frequent and unscheduled basis. Occasional evening and weekend work. Overtime and night work occasional but limited.
Performance of this job will be evaluated consistent with Richmond County School System evaluation policy.
