Description This position will work as a member of Tesla's Instrumentation and Imaging Team to support full vehicle and sub-system tests performed in-house and at external test labs. This role is responsible for performing and overseeing high speed and still photography. Additionally, this technician will support vehicle test execution, as dictated by test priorities. The successful candidate for this position will have a broad background in photography, imaging, and lighting. High speed imaging and Phantom Camera operations would be beneficial as well as experience with instrumentation, data acquisition, and automotive testing.

Responsibilities
  • Select appropriate imaging equipment for use in various test environments
  • Setup and deploy high-speed and other cameras, lighting and lenses for test setups
  • Help maintain all imaging equipment, ensuring good working order and calibration as required
  • Create daily work plans to achieve test plan goals on schedule
  • Design and create custom brackets and fixtures for photographic hardware
  • Coordinate data processing and editing needs with all stakeholders
Requirements
  • Ability to properly set up cameras and lighting specific to test scenarios with little to no guidance
  • Ability to operate and maintain a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, and shop equipment
  • Ability to operate and use diagnostic scan tools, scopes, meters, and other test equipment
  • Experience with MS office tools (Outlook/Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Project), and Adobe products
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including the public
  • A minimum of 3 years of photography, videography/imaging experience, canon cameras
  • Comfortable working on elevated work platforms (scissor lifts, boom lifts, etc)
  • Ability to lift moderate loads
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally (Up to 10%)
