H&M Shop Pipefitter- Night shift

Purpose: The Shop Fabricator is responsible for fabricating, assembling, modifying, and repairing metal components and structural assemblies according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications. This position requires the safe operation of fabrication equipment and tools while maintaining quality workmanship and production schedules.

Essential Skills:

• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, shop drawings, and work instructions
• Measure, cut, fit, and assemble metal materials using hand tools and fabrication equipment
• Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders, band saws, ironworkers, drill presses, torches, and other shop machinery
• Perform layout and fit-up of structural steel, piping, skids, supports, and miscellaneous fabricated items
• Assist with tack welding and preparation for final welding as required
• Verify dimensions and ensure all fabricated materials meet project specifications and quality standards
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with company safety policies
• Inspect materials and completed work for defects or non-conformance
• Work with supervisors, welders, fitters, and other craft personnel to meet production goals
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications

• Experience in structural steel or pipe fabrication
• Forklift and overhead crane experience
• NCCER certification or related craft certifications
• Experience working in industrial, refinery, petrochemical, or construction environments Industrial fabrication shop environment
• Exposure to noise, dust, sparks, fumes, and moving equipment
• Overtime and weekend work may be required based on project demands

Physical Requirements

• Stand or walk for long periods of time 
• Will talk and hear to communicate. 
• Use arms and hands to signal, reach for, handle or manipulate objects, materials, and tools.  
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance. 
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and industrial shop conditions
• Must be able to wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs.
• See well (naturally or with correction) 
• Eye-hand coordination 
• Good physical fitness 
• Good sense of balance 

Tool Requirements: Employees are required to utilize their own tools. A detailed tool list will be provided during processing. 

Environment: Working conditions encountered in this job include those found in a typical outdoor construction setting, which includes exposure to outside weather conditions, extreme heat, wetness and humidity, elevated noise levels above 89 decibels, and work in cramped quarters. Employees may work at elevated heights, climb stairs and ladders, and perform physical manipulation of tools and heavy equipment. This job demands the use of standard construction personal protective equipment as well as advanced protective equipment, including hearing protection, as needed.
