WAFCOR (Work Authorization Form Coordinator)

 This project is located in Hawaii.

The WAFCOR manages, coordinates, oversees, and enforces the Work Authorization Form (WAF) process for all industrial entities onboard Navy Vessels during ship repair availabilities. The WAFCOR ensures that all Trades and Subcontractors abide by the rules and regulations established by the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM). They verify that all Work Authorization Forms are generated correctly and complete upon receipt and submittal. They are the liaison between Ship’s Force and Repair Activities for WAF processing and to assist in resolving tag-out conflicts.

 Communicates regularly with Officers, managers & Supervisors about the different divisions and department’s issues.

 Maintain assigned work areas in a clean and orderly fashion. Maintain and ensure the safety of all assigned equipment.
 Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.

 Meet productivity goals and quality standards as set by management.


 Duties & Responsibilities:

 Reports to the Safety Superintendent Implements and maintains the WAFCOR policy

Reads and interprets technical documents associated with WAF policies and processes Conducts WAF training and maintains WAF training records - Ensures compliance with the NAVSEA Standard Items, EM 385-1-1.

 Manual Physical activities require walking, climbing, stretching, bending, lifting, and sitting

Preferred Experience/Education/Training:

 Experience in ship repair or previous Navy shipboard experience Familiar with JFMM, TUM, and NAVSEA Standard Items

Ability to effectively operate office equipment, to include desktop computers, calculators, printers, copy machines and telephones

Must be able to successfully obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Must be able to successfully obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sites All candidates must submit to and pass a post-offer drug screening and background check before employment begins.
