Position Overview

The general role of the Lead Journeyman Electrician is to provide physical labor and support to a wide range of construction trades through various construction, and industrial projects. This is considered a skilled position that requires construction knowledge and aptitude, along with a basic knowledge of construction trades. Projects may include, but not be limited to the following industries and facilities: Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Factories, Production Plants, Coal, Solar, Wind Energy, etc. This position will require a flexible schedule with extensive travel and out-of-town work and the willingness to work extended hours to include weekends, holidays, evenings, and possible night shift.

This individual will have a thorough understanding of all aspects of industrial construction and must be proficient with the products and services offered by Beitzel Corporation and must be flexible and willing to work extended hours as needed.

The Lead Journeyman Electrician will report to the Group Manager - Electrical Services and will work primarily out of the Beitzel Corporate location.

What You'll Do

  • Communicate equipment and supply needs to the laborers as well as Operations Managers
  • Prepare time and materials (T&M) tickets, receipts, and other paperwork as required by the job
  • Answer calls and questions related to the job, other co-vendors and from other Beitzel employees
  • Respond in a timely manner to customer service needs
  • Provide general labor and skilled labor to industrial trades and to various construction and industrial projects
  • Perform electrical installations and trouble shooting.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the installation of concrete pours and finishes, building and preparing forms, rebar, masonry, block laying, pipefitting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, rigging, excavation, ditching, trenching and general labor as required
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Provide detailed paperwork, and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping, billing and inventory
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a professional and workman-like manner
  • Follow proper safety and incident reporting procedures
  • Provide support and supervision for Millwright/Welding Services employees
  • Provide troubleshooting to follow a problem to the source and solve the issue
  • Help other field personnel as needed
  • Work on-call and demonstrate commitment to the job

What You'll Bring

  • Must possess a Journeyman Electrical license in any state (MD is preferred)
  • A minimum of (4) years of electrical experience
  • Preferably begins the MSHA-WV Electrical Apprenticeship Program
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Industrial Services is preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the NEC (National Electric Code)
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately
  • Practical knowledge of office procedures and customer relations
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Skill in dealing with the public in a manner which will facilitate constructive problem solving
  • Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to meet deadlines
Working Conditions

  • Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to kneel, stoop, bend, squat, and climb a ladder
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • Must be able to work at heights
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces
  • Works indoors and outdoors in all types of weather
  • Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations
