Job Summary
The individual is responsible for setting up and operating a TIG / MIG welder based on the necessary application and material thickness of stainless-steel ranging from 18 Ga to ½" plate. The ability to use various hand tools and grinders to achieve the desired weld prep or the ability to dress a weld. The ability to read and interpret weld callouts and print dimensions. The ability to use measuring equipment such as tape measures, combination squares, calipers, fillet gauges, etc. to lay out and fit up assembly and inspect weldment once completed. The job requires the ability to lift 50 lbs. The ability to use a hand torch to silver solder and lead solder assemblies is a plus.
Responsibilities
3 years' experience as a TIG welder.
Ability to fit up and weld close tolerance assemblies.
Ability to read and interpret weld callouts and print dimensions.
Ability to use common measuring equipment, Tape measure, Combination Square, Calipers, fillet gauges, etc.
Ability to do the required math to calculate dimensions and allowable tolerances.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Must be willing to work within strict safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
Good listening/ learning skills, adaptive, and willing to work with others.
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Qualifications
5 years' experience in MIG and TIG as a welding fabricator or similar position. (Including the ability to set up TIG and MIG welders on stainless steel ranging from 18 Ga. To ½" plate, hold close tolerances on weldments, and use common tools of the trade.)
Ability to silver solder assemblies is a plus.
Proficient in understanding and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GDT)
Ability to weld using a rotator or similar application.
Experience driving a sit-down forklift (Gas or Electric)
Experience using a Jib or overhead crane.
Experience with a plasma cutter while holding tight tolerance.
