Job Title: Yard Man Helper
Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Salary Range: $14-$16/hours
Reports To: Yard Supervisor and Operations Manager
Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Man Helper to assist with the day-to-day operations in the yard, ensuring materials and equipment are organized, stocked, and ready for use. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role involves physical labor, teamwork, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:

• Material Handling: Assist with the unloading, loading, and moving of materials and equipment in the yard, including heavy lifting and operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other machinery (when trained).
• Inventory Management: Help organize, sort, and inventory materials and supplies in the yard to ensure easy access and minimize disruptions to operations.
• Site Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe work environment by picking up debris, trash, and materials, ensuring the yard is organized and free from hazards.
• Assisting with Equipment: Help load and unload construction or delivery vehicles with the necessary equipment or materials.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and policies, ensuring the yard is compliant with local regulations and company safety standards.
• Assist Yard Supervisor: Support the Yard Supervisor and other team members with daily tasks, such as preparing materials for upcoming deliveries or maintaining equipment.
• Customer Support: Occasionally assist with customer pick-ups, ensuring materials are properly loaded and customers are given the necessary instructions or information.
• General Labor: Perform various manual labor tasks as assigned by the supervisor, which may include landscape maintenance, yard clean up, or material re-organization.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED (preferred but not required).
• 1+ years of experience working in a yard or warehouse setting (preferred).
• Ability to operate forklifts or other yard machinery (training provided if necessary).
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs or more).
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to follow instructions.
• Basic math skills to assist with inventory and order management.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and outdoors.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

• Yard environment with exposure to outdoor elements, including heat, cold, dust, and construction noise.
• Requires lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time.
• Must wear appropriate safety gear, including gloves, steel-toed boots, and high-visibility clothing.
