JOB DUTIES:

· Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems

· Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassemble repaired systems

· Inspect maintenance systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes

· Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems

· Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring

· Prepares technical reports to document preventative maintenance issues

· Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance)

· Maintains and secures a spare parts inventory, recommends purchasing of maintenance equipment and supplies as required to improve processes and efficiencies

· Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield

· Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments

· Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassemble repaired systems

· Assists higher-level technicians

· Installs, connects, tests, and sustains electrical systems for a variety of purposes, including climate control, security, and communications.

· Figures layout, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools.

· Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.

· Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.

· Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit, using tools, such as hacksaw, pipe threader, and conduit bender.

· Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, using knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.

· Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments, such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope.

· Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.

· Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The associate is frequently required to walk. The associate is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The associate is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to a minimum of 25lbs. and a maximum of 100lbs. Specific vision abilities may be required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles. WORK ENVIRONMENT

· May work with the demands of the department which are regular overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift times as business needs dictate

· Working hours will be spent in the factory, warehouse or outside

· Stand and/or walk; lift and move up to 50 pounds and a maximum of 100 pounds - lift, bend, reach above the head kneel, crouch, and/or stretch during shifts

· Temperature in the facility varies between 60 and 95 degrees, and will occasionally exceed 95 degrees

· Ability to work in an office and plant environment with exposure to noise, equipment and machinery
