DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be part of our transportation department, responsible for operating a fleet of vans, trucks, and other equipment to support hospital departments and some external agencies. Your duties will include driving minivans, cars, wheelchair vans, and light-duty trucks to transport patients and staff on and off the premises. Additionally, you will operate snowplows, salt spreaders, front-end loaders, forklifts, skid loaders, and various tractors. Groundskeeping tasks will involve using mowers, rollers, and other equipment, as well as performing manual labor with hand tools for grounds maintenance. It is also important to keep vehicles and the garage area free from debris and hazards while regularly cleaning and servicing assigned equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • You will follow a rotating work schedule. During the first week, you will work 7 days from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by 2 weekend days off. You will then work 3 days from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with 2 weekdays off. Work hours include a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime may be required and is subject to emergency call-ins.
  • Travel may be required as needed.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
  • This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
