Description

The Vessel Construction Manager will be responsible for managing improvement and design/build projects from cradle to grave with little or no supervision. The CM will be responsible for managing engineering staff, regulatory bodies, shipyards, fabricators, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.

Responsibilities:
- Manage shipyard and shipbuilding projects from project design to implementation.
- Identify project scope to determine which projects should be subcontracted out or handled internally.
- Create and adhere to project schedule and budgets.
- Develop construction designs and write specifications.
- Manage outside engineering firms.
- Manage projects through USCG, ABS, and USACE approval process.
- Negotiate pricing and scheduling.
- Oversee shipyard installations and fabrications when needed.
- Shipyard and subcontractor invoicing.
- Guide and mentor engineering staff as well as project management.
- Regular status reporting to upper management.
- Project Procurement.
- Create designs that adhere to company safety protocol and procedures.

This is a first shift direct hire position offering a $175,000+ salary range. Relocation benefits may be offered to those who qualify.

Qualifications

- 10+ years’ shipyard or shipbuilding experience (Hopper Dredge design/build would be ideal).
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or similar discipline.
- Shipyard Project Management experience required.
- Proficient use of 2-D and 3-D Autodesk Product Design Suite as well as Nastran In-CAD Inventor software.
- Microsoft Office Experience.
- Knowledge of USCG rules (CFR), USACE regulations (EM-385), and American Bureau of Shipping rules and requirements.
