Description
Position Summary:
The Industrial Electrician is primarily responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, maintenance and process improvement of electrical equipment, automated PLC's, robotics, and other computer-controlled equipment used to support production operations. Ensure the continued functioning of electrical equipment by its proper installation, maintenance, and repair.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Installs, repairs, and maintains the electrical parts of our industrial equipment with minimal machinery downtime.
Adequately documents all work performed in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
Maintain knowledge of drawings, blueprints, schematics, and inspection manuals.
Knowledge of robotics systems for testing and maintaining of overall systems.
Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable regulatory requirements while following the company's Good Manufacturing Practices.
Diagnose issue with sophisticated control systems and employ tactics to resolve them effectively.
Works individually or as part of a team to successfully complete projects
Follows safety procedures and adheres to electrical codes.
Correctly interprets detailed technical documents, schematics, and instructions for proper execution of assignments.
Perform repairs, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting for all electrical, and pneumatic systems to support both production and non-production related equipment in accordance with established standards.
Collaborate with engineering and other cross-functional groups to ensure equipment downtime is communicated in a timely fashion and that decisions are in alignment with productions needs and overall company initiatives.
Conducts quality assurance measures and inspections.
Minimum Qualifications:
2 Year electromechanical degree or equivalent
5 years of electromechanical experience ideally in a food or beverage industry environment
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and abilities to analyze a wide variety of equipment troubleshoot problems and assess maintenance needs.
Demonstrated working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and controls aspects of factory automation systems and the integration of the devices used.
Working knowledge of electrical circuits, PLC troubleshooting, repair, and programming.
Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical P&ID drawings, and applied knowledge operating systems up to 3Ph and 480 VAC.
Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and an ability to follow work plans/instructions to complete a task.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
Proficient using a PC, ideally using Microsoft Office programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in Electromechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field
Previous experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Physical Environment:
Manufacturing plant environment. Frequent bending, lifting, stooping, climbing. The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals-including allergen ingredients such as nuts and eggs.
