We now have a national and international presence spanning coast to coast, including U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and now, Puerto Rico. We offer management of projects throughout the United States, with our field operations' team members who work on location for each of our projects. We specialize in fast-track projects in new commercial construction with a primary focus in the Department of Defense market.

We are seeking a qualified Medium Voltage (5KV to 35KV) Cable Installer/Terminator & Electrician to join our team for construction projects based in the Southeast. Travel required, Paid Hotel and daily Per Diem when traveling to Project sites. Expected travel to Barksdale, Louisiana, Kings Bay, Georgia and US Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Passport required.

RQC needs a Med. Voltage Cable Installer/Terminator on several projects around the southeast U.S. This individual will be the competent person onsite during cable pulling operations per requirements and also hold a certificate qualifying them as a cable splicer so that they may perform terminations. This person should be available to travel as needed but should expect to be on a site roughly 2-6 months at a time. This is all to be done using the appropriate equipment and implementing the required safety practices in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Pay $44.06PH, DOE Prevailing Wage

Compensation is based on specific project location AND WILL FOLLOW DAVIS BACON PREVAILING WAGE REQUIREMENTS, WHICH VARY FROM MILITARY BASE TO MILITARY BASE. The hourly range is approximately $44.06hr, eligible for overtime.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Be a valid Certificate Holder (must have proof of cert.) from the National Cable Splicing Termination Board (NCSCB) in the field of splicing and terminating shielded medium voltage (5KV to 35KV) power cable using pre-manufactured kits (pre-molded, heat-shrink, cold shrink).
  • A high school diploma or GED is the preferred minimum formal education for this position. Should be supplemented by completion of a Union, private (in-house), military, or trade school apprenticeship program that includes theory and on-the-job work.
  • Four or more years (or equivalent) field or trade work experience as a journey-level wireman in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting is required; government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred.
  • Communication Tela/Comm installation
  • Underground experience
  • Conductor Installation experience
  • Start-up and energizing procedures of equipment
  • Fire alarm system/Security system installation
  • Valid electrician's license or journeyman card is preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30-hour Certifications required; Specific training or certificates in the following preferred:
  • Trenching and shoring training
  • Fall protection training
  • Confined space training
  • Forklift/Manlift training and certificate
  • Power actuated tools training and certificate
  • Lockout/Tagout training
  • Hot work training
  • Scissor lift/boom lift certificate

  • Ability to provide the necessary tools, including, but not limited to knife, pliers/linemen, screwdrivers, nut drivers, keyhole saw, hacksaw, hammer, level (small 12"), channel locks 2, needle nose pliers/long nose pliers, voltage meter/tester, tool pouch/belt for electrical, diagonal pliers, Allen wrenches/stranded/metric, taps (6/32, 8/32, 10/24), wire stripers, socket set, tape measure (at least 25 ft.), side cutters, flashlight, cordless drill/impact drill, wrench set, crescent wrench.
