Pay: $28/hr + $50/day per diem for days worked
Lodging: Provided for the entire duration of the job
Schedule: Monday–Saturday
Hours: 60+ hours/week

Job Description

We are seeking experienced 1st Class Flux Core Welders for a heavy shipyard construction project. Candidates must have strong shipyard FCAW experience, including ceramic tape backing and structural welding in all positions.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding using FCAW.

• Weld structural steel in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.

• Complete full-penetration welds using ceramic tape backing.

• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and WPS.

• Produce welds that meet shipyard quality standards.

• Safely operate and maintain welding equipment.

• Follow all shipyard safety policies and OSHA requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of structural welding experience.

• Heavy shipbuilding, ship repair experience required.

• Current hands-on FCAW experience.

• Current experience with ceramic tape backing.

• Proven ability to weld structural steel in all positions.

• Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and WPS.

• Strong knowledge of welding equipment setup and basic troubleshooting.

• Must be able to pass the required weld test.
