Job Description
BlueWave Resource Partners is hiring a Sr. Facilities Systems Controls Specialist for a long-term, high-profile project at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. This is a 24-month onsite role involving both field and desk work, supporting a variety of facility automation systems across the resort.
This is a hands-on, senior-level position. You’ll be responsible for the design, build, and troubleshooting of UL 508A control panels, as well as field commissioning and support for systems such as HVAC, thermal energy storage, water filtration, SCADA, and utility monitoring.
Job Breakdown
- 70% field work / 30% desk work
- Build and troubleshoot control panels and electrical enclosures
- Read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and AutoCAD drawings
- Support HVAC and Central Plant systems, SCADA, EMS/BMS, lighting controls
- Use tools such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and calibration devices
- Perform reactive maintenance and support new installations and upgrades
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience building and wiring control panels (UL 508A)
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, RTDs, flow meters, pressure sensors, etc.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and reading wiring schematics
- Experienced in electrical troubleshooting and field commissioning
- Comfortable with low voltage instrumentation, relays, and control valves
- Ability to wire from scratch using hand/power tools and follow shop standards
- Understanding of mechanical systems (pumps, valves, HVAC systems)
Preferred (Not Required)
- Knowledge of Allen Bradley and/or Carrier Comfort Controllers
- Experience with communication protocols: Bacnet, Modbus, TCP/IP
- Familiarity with energy management, lighting controls, and SCADA platforms
- Control theory knowledge (closed-loop control, fail-safe design)
Education Requirements
- Trade school certification in electrical or control systems (2–4 years)

- Associate degree in electrical engineering or related field
