FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

Pay: $21.13-$23.84/hr.

We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Site Maintenance Laborer to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our facility at 675 Los Esteros Road in San Jose, CA and limited job-related travel may be required.

Position Summary:

GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Site Maintenance Laborer to provide support to one or more facilities. This role's main function will be to perform general labor to complete site projects and routine facility maintenance. As well as to have the ability to operate hand tools, industrial equipment, heavy equipment, motorized equipment and perform other job-related duties as needed safely and skillfully.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Clean, maintain and repair plants and equipment on a regular basis.
  • Perform routine site maintenance and general labor as needed. (Example: landscaping, plumbing, installation of signage, painting, litter control etc.)
  • Assist with onsite projects as needed.
  • Ability to follow directions, daily procedures, and protocols. Ability to understand and carry out written and/or oral instructions.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed.
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to work as a team and work well with others.
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality required in order to minimize disruptions to the day-to-day operations.
Language Skill:

  • Proficiency in English and/or Spanish
Physical Demands:
  • Requires the ability to handle material weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Requires constant pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, and grasping.
  • Requires going up and down stairs to reach certain equipment locations.
  • Occasional walking, sitting, standing, climbing, reaching, stooping, crouching, or kneeling.
  • Normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Work Environment:

Typical work week is Monday through Friday. Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Ability to work in setting with frequent changes in equipment, start/end time, service city/town and routes based on the operational needs for the day and or week.
