Seeking Material Handling Equipment Mechanic / Industrial Mechanic for temp-to-hire position in West Chester, OH with a reputable Facility Maintenance Company. Great opportunity with benefits, employee perks, and potential for long-term career!

  • Shifts will be 8+ hour days
  • Work is Monday through Friday (approximately 40+ hours per week)
  • Pay is $28/hr. and based upon experience and the results of an interview
  • This is a temp-to-hire position; seeking candidates who are looking for long-term work

Material Handling Equipment Mechanic / Industrial Mechanic Job Description:

  • Make general mechanical and electrical repairs to various material handling equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance of material handling equipment per scheduled tasking
  • Perform previously authorized safety inspections and corrections or identify material handling equipment needing major safety repairs/rebuilds
  • Receive and manage work orders, preventative maintenance, and inspections
  • Repair and maintain forklifts, pallet jacks, golf carts, etc. using necessary tools and following OEM maintenance policies and procedures
  • Maintain equipment and history file system
  • Attend all safety meetings and provide Site Lead with updates on equipment
  • Inspect, maintain, and perform work in, on, or under parts of forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Work in dynamic work environment which includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock. wet and/or humid conditions, heights, fumes, caustic/toxic chemicals, inclement weather conditions outdoors, and high noise level

Requirements for Material Handling Equipment Mechanic / Industrial Mechanic:

  • Must have 8+ years' experience in fleet and/or material handling equipment maintenance
  • Must have 8+ years' experience working with hydraulic and electrical fuel systems
  • Must have basic welding ability (Oxy/Acetylene, MIG, and arc) and be able to apply when making repairs to fleet and material handling equipment
  • Must be able to evaluate and repair machinery including but not limited to diesel equipment, forklifts, industrial machinery, conveyors, and aerial equipment
  • Must have high school diploma (or equivalent) and valid forklift license
  • Must be able to reach and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Must be able to speak effectively before Site Lead, customers, and other associates
  • Must have mechanical hand tools for maintenance (client will provide all other equipment)
  • Must demonstrate safe work habits and proper care for tools and equipment
  • Must be able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Must be available during non-work hours if required and be able to promptly respond to emergency calls as needed
  • Mechanic certification is preferred

Additional Requirements for Material Handling Equipment Mechanic / Industrial Mechanic:

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job site
  • Applicants will be subject to pre-employment drug screen
  • Applicants will be subject to background check
  • Applicants will be subject to Motor Vehicle Report
