Job Summary:

The Hydration Specialist is responsible for ensuring all team members, workers, or athletes remain properly hydrated and supported during high-exertion activities or extreme environmental conditions. This role supports overall health, safety, and productivity by proactively managing water stations and distributing electrolyte-enhanced beverages as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor hydration levels of personnel and encourage regular fluid intake.
  • Set up, maintain, and refill water stations, coolers, and hydration equipment throughout the day.
  • Distribute electrolyte beverages, snacks, or supplements based on site needs.
  • Track fluid consumption to detect signs of dehydration or heat-related illness.
  • Educate workers or team members on proper hydration practices.
  • Communicate with supervisors if any individuals show signs of fatigue, heat stress, or dehydration.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of hydration stations, ensuring safe and sanitary conditions.
  • Assist in weather-related safety protocols (e.g., during high heat or humidity).

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a support or safety role on a construction site, sports team, or event crew preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate or educate others on healthy habits.
  • Physically able to stand, walk, and lift supplies throughout the day.
  • Dependable and detail-oriented with a proactive approach to safety.

Preferred Certifications (Optional or Required by Role):

  • OSHA 10 or 30 (for construction or industrial settings)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Heat Stress Awareness Training

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Must wear PPE when required (vest, boots, hat, etc.).
  • May involve early hours, long shifts, and weekend work depending on site needs.
